St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Centereach, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team.

The role requires Saturday and Sunday coverage in a skilled nursing setting, with independence in evaluation and treatment. Ideal candidates hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, are licensed as RRT or CRT with BLS, and have experience with tracheostomies and long-term care processes.

Formación

• Graduate of COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT and BLS certified.

Responsabilidades

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
