Job summary

St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Fort Salonga, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team. Coverage on Saturdays and Sundays with independent practice and licensed in-state.

You will assess, treat, and document patient care, participate in IDT meetings, and provide quarterly in-services. Ideal candidates have COARC-accredited training, an RRT/CRT license, and experience with tracheostomies in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT and in-state license.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory therapy for various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Conduct in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Demonstrate experience with tracheotomy.
• Work in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Handle tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
