Job summary

St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. This weekend position requires licensed RRT or CRT credentials and the ability to perform evaluations and treatments independently with geriatric patients.

The RT will initiate therapies, document patient care, assist with tracheostomy cases, and participate in IDT meetings. Prior LTC experience and BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Care.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete respiratory assessments and implement therapy for varied conditions.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and related procedures.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy and LTC settings.
