Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The clinician must be licensed in Florida, capable of independent assessment, and able to deliver respiratory therapies with residents in a geriatric setting.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, therapy initiation, documentation, and participation in IDT meetings. Experience with tracheotomy and LTC environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress rehab patients with various respiratory and non-respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
