Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management in Dallas, TX is seeking a Transportation Aide to coordinate resident transport to medical appointments under supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Responsibilities include organizing schedules, transporting residents to inpatient/outpatient programs, reporting changes to clinical staff, and maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness. Must have valid driver's license, nurse aide training, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Driver's license valid in the applying state.
  • Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and competency evaluation, with name on State Registry.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes transportation of residents to medical appointments based on priority of needs.
  • Transports residents to inpatient/outpatient programs and to facilities and residences.
  • Develops driving schedule around resident appointments and ensures transport after hospital discharge.
  • Reports changes in resident condition during transport to clinical staff and supervisor.
  • Transports medical records for signatures as needed.
  • Maintains safety and vehicle cleanliness and performs routine maintenance checks.
  • Assists clinical staff with safe lifting/transfers as ordered and supports residents needing assistance.
  • Maintains positive communication with outside facilities to ensure proper scheduling.
  • Notifies scheduling changes to DON and nursing staff and follows up as necessary.
  • Provides hydration to residents according to individual needs.
  • Protects residents' personal property.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
