Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a Transportation Aide to coordinate resident transport to medical appointments under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Must hold a valid state Driver's License and Nurse Aide certification, plus BLS/CPR where required.

You will organize driving schedules, maintain safety, transport residents to various facilities, and assist with transfers while ensuring hydration and care during travel.

Qualifications

• Must have valid state Driver's License.
• Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (as required by state).

Responsibilities

• Organizes transportation of residents to appointments based on priority of resident needs.
• Transports residents to inpatient and outpatient programs and to and from facilities and residences.
• Develops driving schedule based on residents' scheduled medical appointments and destinations.
• Reports changes of abnormal findings in resident status during transport to clinical supervisor.
• Transports medical records for signatures to medical offices.
• Maintains safety policies and keeps vehicle clean and in good working condition.
• Assists clinical staff with safe lifting, transferring and transporting as directed by physician orders.
• Establishes communications with outside facilities to ensure proper services and scheduling.
• Reports scheduling changes to the DON and nursing/ancillary staff and follows up as needed.
• Provides adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals.
• Protects residents' personal property.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Nurse Aide Training with State Registry in good standing
