Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice, with a remote weekend day shift (Sat, Sun, Mon, 7am–7:30pm) in Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves triage, patient education, immunizations, and care coordination in an ambulatory clinic setting.

The RN will support physicians with exams, manage medications, and coordinate referrals while maintaining accurate EHR documentation. ADN is required; BSN preferred; 1–2 years ambulatory nursing experience is desired.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state RN license required; NCLEX-RN passed.
• Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification preferred.
• Strong patient education and care coordination; adept triage by phone and in person.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Support prevention and population health outreach.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
