Job summary

The Communications Officer at Children's Health in Dallas, TX handles incoming non-emergency and emergency calls, prioritizing and relaying information to field personnel via radio, telephone, intercom and CAD. Qualifications

• At least 2 years related experience (customer service, healthcare, security or related fields).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain TX A&M or NCT9-1-1 certificate within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates emergency and non-emergency communication systems; receives requests by telephone and relays information.
• Monitor security alarms including fire, generator, medical gas, door alarms and trauma pager.
• Operates CAD and other technical computer systems; maintains service-request records.
• Monitors the hospital public airway system and coordinates with field personnel.
• Maintains logs of all calls and emergencies, ensuring accurate documentation.

Public Safety Telecommunicator certificate (TX A&M/ NCT9-1-1) - within 60 days
