Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Production Manager on the Weekend Shift to lead machinists and technicians, drive on‑time delivery, and oversee quality and engineering support. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, process discipline, and effective cross‑shift communication.

Located in Colorado Springs, this position reports to manufacturing leadership and requires a US citizen with the ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
• This position will require the candidate to work Weekend Shift consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6AM–6PM.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technicians, and provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering.
• Maintain shop organization and 5S, performing weekly 5S audits.
• Provide effective passdown status between shifts.
• Work with production control team to understand deliverables and deploy resources effectively to support on time delivery.
• Work with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve production flow.
• Work with quality to understand status of nonconformities and support closure to move forward to the next step.
• Identify production roadblocks and escalation to appropriate teams.
• Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes.
• Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects.
• Identify and elevate risks in the production processes.
• Maintain department performance metrics.
