Job summary

SSM Health Dean Medical Group Janesville is seeking a PRN registered nurse for weekend coverage. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care across all assigned patients in a fast-paced setting.

You will collaborate with an interprofessional team, manage IV access, use EPIC electronic health records, and assist with vascular access and antibiotic administration as needed. Prior experience is not required but strong clinical fundamentals are essential.

Qualifications

• RN licensure or education equivalency for nursing licensing.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs and support care.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to resolve patient issues.
• Coordinate with departments to establish patient treatment plans.
• Individualize and update care plans, including vascular access education.
• Perform IV insertion and assess peripheral and central lines.
• Utilize point-of-care ultrasound and IV infusion pumps as needed.
• Interpret department policies and lab results to safely manage patient care.
• Document and communicate patient condition and respond to changes.
• Access treatment plans via the EHR and ensure care follows evidence-based practice.
• Maintain alertness and safety in all tasks and perform other duties as assigned.
