Job summary

Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant (PCA/UAA) for a 7a–7p weekend shift. The role supports the interprofessional team, performing nursing assistant level tasks under supervision of a licensed nurse, and assisting with ADLs, calls to physicians, bed management, and unit coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education (GED, etc.).
• Eighteen months CNA/CMA/PCA experience.
• One year of secretarial/office experience or six months internal cross-training within Houston Methodist.

Responsibilities

• Answers unit calls and transfers as appropriate; greets patients and visitors.
• Communicates with patients, physicians, and families with a customer-service focus.
• Performs basic ADL tasks under RN supervision and assists with bed management.
• Coordinates unit workflow, calls to physicians, and transfers as needed.
