Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care through the nursing process from assessment to evaluation. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Texas RN license, current CPR, ACLS within six months for designated units, NRP and PALS within six months for specified

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required, preferably in a hospital-based acute care setting.
• Current and active license to practice as an RN in the State of Texas.
• Current CPR training required.
• ACLS required for specific nursing units or within six months of appointment.
• NRP training required or obtained within six months for AntePartum, Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby and Newborn Nursery.
• PALS required or obtained within six months for Ambulatory Surgical Unit and Center, Cath Lab., Emergency Endoscopy, Endoscopy Pre-Assessment, Operating Room and Recovery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Support the organization’s vision and mission.
• Utilize knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity in care provision.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that demonstrate positive patient outcomes.
