Job summary

DOCS Health in Texas is seeking an experienced Optometry Technician to work primarily on weekends, providing eye exams and optical support for military service members.

You will operate optical machinery, interface with patient care software, assist the optometrist during procedures, help patients select frames, and maintain an organized, ready exam room to ensure efficient, quality care across shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
• Must have own transportation for site traveling.

Responsibilities

• Assists the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Takes patient histories and maintains the patient records system.
• Assists patients in selecting frames for glasses.
• Demonstrates care and maintenance of lenses to patients.
• Repairs minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses.
• Keeps the office organized and exam room prepared.
• Tests visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes.
