Job summary

DOCS Health is seeking an optometric technician to support military service members with eye care services in Texas, primarily on weekends with occasional weekdays. You will work directly with patients, operate optical equipment, and interface with patient care software.

Responsibilities include assisting the optometrist, taking histories, helping patients choose frames, and performing basic vision tests. Prior ophthalmic experience is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician.
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required.
• Experience with computers, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optometrist with procedures and patient care.
• Take patient histories and maintain records.
• Assist patients in selecting suitable frame options.
• Demonstrate care and maintenance of lenses.
• Repair minor issues with eyeglasses.
• Keep the office organized and exam room ready.
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, and pupil reflexes.
