Job summary

Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center is seeking a weekend Nursing Supervisor (LPN or RN) to oversee resident care and staff on Saturdays and Sundays. Shifts are 7a-3p and 3p-11p.

You will ensure care plans are followed, coordinate with physicians, and maintain accurate nursing records. Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, updating care plans, and promoting high-quality resident care while adhering to long-term care regulations.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered LPN or RN license in this state.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or related health care setting.
• Ability to read, write, speak English.
• Strong assessment skills for resident care.
• Knowledge of restorative nursing and rehab policies.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to work with staff, residents, families, and the public.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and regulations in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
• Develop, update, and communicate residents' care plans.
• Ensure staff implement care plans and monitor changes in resident status.
• Maintain accurate resident care plans for all under care.
• Follow physician orders and assist with comprehensive nursing care and treatments.
• Transcribe physician orders promptly and accurately.
• Review records daily for accuracy and completeness.
• Document comprehensive nursing notes and assessments as needed.
• Maintain awareness of residents on alert list and document RN assessments.
• Document and report unusual findings; contact physicians as necessary.
• Administer medications per protocol and assist with emergencies.
• Oversee Charge Nurse and CNA performance.
• Support positive resident and family relations.

Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, an award-winning skilled nursing facility, is looking for weekend nursing supervisors! Shifts available are 7a-3p and 3p-11p. Weekly pay ranges from $41 to $52, including shift differentials, and depending on the shift. Can be an LPN or RN.

Responsibilities

• Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident
• Participate in developing, updating, and communicating residents' care plans
• Ensure staff is implementing care plans, performing care activities appropriately, and recognizes changes in resident status
• Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under your care
• Follow physician's orders, render and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders
• Transcribe physician's orders promptly and accurately
• Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness
• Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes
• Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list/conduct and document RN assessments as needed
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary
• Administer medication according to procedure if applicable
• Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary
• Conduct oversight of Charge Nurse and CNA performances
• Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations

Requirements

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in this state
• Must be CPR certified
• Must have as a minimum, one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related health care facility
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills
• Must have knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability, and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
