Job summary

Excelsior University seeks part-time clinical instructors to support nursing education. Instructors report to the Department Chair and coordinate with instructional faculty to supervise and evaluate students’ clinical experiences.

They provide prompt responses to student needs, offer formative feedback, and demonstrate clinical expertise through supervision and teaching. Commitment to student success and engagement is valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing or BSN with active enrollment toward MSN/doctoral.
• Active NYS RN license and BLS certification.
• Minimum 5 years RN experience across varied clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Complete institution-sponsored training.
• Adhere to all policies in the Clinical Faculty Handbook.
• Work 2 non-consecutive weekends during an 8-week term (Fri 6h, Sat/Sun 12h).
• Be present for full clinical day and hours.
• Plan patient assignments aligned to course objectives.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and related technology.
• Complete facility trainings and LMS activities.
• Participate in pre/post-clinical activities in Canvas.
• Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students.
• Provide evidence-based examples and feedback.
• Complete clinical evaluation rubrics for each student.
