Job summary

Excelsior University seeks part-time clinical instructors to support nursing courses and supervise student clinical experiences. Instructors will respond promptly to student needs, provide timely formative feedback, and demonstrate clinical expertise through supervising and evaluating clinical experiences.

Instructors must complete required training, comply with policies, and coordinate weekend clinicals (Friday evening and weekend days) while maintaining presence for the full shift.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required; or BSN with active enrollment toward an advanced degree.
• Active NYS RN license (unencumbered).
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience across varied clinical areas.
• Experience supervising nursing students or new grads; strong communication; familiarity with educational tech; current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Complete institution-sponsored training program.
• Adhere to Excelsior policies per Faculty Handbook.
• Work 2 non-consecutive weekends during an 8-week term (Fri 6 hours; Sat/Sun 12 hours).
• Remain present for the full clinical day and hours.
• Plan and coordinate patient assignments to meet course objectives.
• Demonstrate nursing skill competency with EHR and IV pumps.
• Participate in pre- and post-clinical activities in Canvas.
• Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students as indicated.
• Provide evidence-based examples and individualized feedback.
• Complete clinical evaluation rubrics for each student promptly.
