Job summary

Excelsior University is seeking part-time clinical instructors to support nursing courses. You will supervise and evaluate nursing students during clinical experiences, provide timely feedback, and collaborate with instructional faculty to ensure student success.

The role requires an active NYS RN license, a master’s degree in nursing (or BSN with progression toward advanced study), and strong communication skills. Training, weekends on site, and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or BSN with active enrollment toward graduate degree in Nursing.
• Active NYS RN license.
• Minimum of 5 years RN experience in varied clinical areas.
• Current clinical experience in acute care hospital setting.
• Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with educational technology including video conferencing.

Responsibilities

• Complete institution-sponsored training program.
• Adhere to institutional policies as outlined in the Clinical Faculty Handbook.
• Work 2 non-consecutive weekends during an 8-week term: Friday 6 hours, and weekend days 12 hours.
• Provide prompt responses and formative feedback to students.
• Coordinate patient assignments and supervise students’ clinical experiences.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and familiarity with unit policies and facility procedures.
• Engage in pre- and post-clinical activities with students in Canvas LMS.
• Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions as scheduled.
• Offer evidence-based professional examples and individualized feedback to students.
• Complete clinical evaluation rubrics for each student in a timely manner.
