Job summary

Elkton-Nursing- is seeking a Weekend Supervisor RN to lead nursing units on weekends, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. You will supervise staff, coordinate admissions/discharges, and work with the DON to maintain patient care quality.

The role requires strong communication, budget awareness, and the ability to make independent decisions across shifts, with performance feedback and staff coaching as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• One year of nurse management/leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to lead diverse team of individuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, supervision, and management oversight to all nursing staff on all shifts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Supervise nursing department in the absence of the DON/ADON as directed.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; ensure documentation.
• Conduct patient rounds and provide immediate feedback to staff.
• Initiate coaching/counseling and/or corrective action as necessary.
• Review and investigate concerns; take action to resolve and prevent reoccurrence.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of nursing staff.
• Review staffing at change of shift; assign and replace staff to meet patient needs.
• Manage unit budget and control costs; reduce waste where possible.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
