Job summary

KMVT in Twin Falls, Idaho is seeking a Weekend Meteorologist/MMJ who will be the trusted voice our community turns to for accurate forecasts and compelling weather stories. This role combines meteorology expertise with multimedia journalism to deliver weather information across TV, streaming, and digital platforms.

You will report live from events, write and produce weather stories, and work with a photographer to capture visuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology preferred
• Generally 3+ years of experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with clean record

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts using data and graphics
• Deliver urgent weather updates interrupting programming when needed
• Create weather content for TV, streaming, and digital platforms
• Assist management in evaluating new weather data and presentation tools
• Develop story ideas from assignments or tips
• Report live from event sites or mobile unit
• Write and produce weather stories for multiple media
• Report, write, capture visuals, edit, and publish stories on deadline
• Collaborate with photographer on stories when assigned
• Gather and verify factual information via interviews and research
• Perform other duties as needed
