Job summary

Weyerhaeuser's Longview, WA lumber mill seeks a Maintenance Team Leader to drive safety, reliability and continuous improvement on a weekend day shift. You will lead maintenance crews, mentor tradespeople, coordinate with planning and vendors, and push for world-class uptime and quality.

The role requires leadership experience, strong troubleshooting, and expertise in mechanical/electrical systems. Proficiency with SAP/Maximo and MS Office is expected, with after-hours availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience demonstrating leadership skills; positive influence and success in safety, productivity, and people development.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action.
• 5+ years’ experience maintaining mechanical and/or electrical industrial systems.
• Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance methods.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office products and internet browsing.
• Experience utilizing computer maintenance management systems (i.e.: SAP, Maximo).
• Ability to accept and respond to after-hour's calls, and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Model safe work practices and lead safety initiatives for associates and contractors.
• Manage weekend maintenance and cleanup crews.
• Lead and motivate tradespeople to deliver world-class reliability.
• Partner with departments to identify issues and eliminate equipment failure.
• Lead development of the maintenance team through coaching and performance management.
• Provide execution feedback to planning and scheduling offices.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for goods and services.
• Demonstrate proactive troubleshooting to meet safety, uptime, production and quality goals.
