Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health in Spokane, WA is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our inpatient unit. The role includes peer counseling, crisis support, and collaboration with clinicians to promote recovery and resilience.

PAID shift differential applies for weekend hours, and extensive employee benefits are provided. Qualified candidates will have recovery background, WA DOH credential, BLS, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Self-identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition or substance use disorder
• Certified Peer Support Specialist or Trainee Credential from WA DOH OR apply for Trainee credential within 90 days of start date
• Active BLS within 90 days of hire and must maintain active BLS
• Unrestricted valid driver’s license, motor vehicle screening, driving test, and active car insurance

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians in developing treatment objectives and interventions for clients in mental health services
• Provide peer counseling and support to clients, parents, caregivers, and supports to regain hope and control
• Identify services and activities that promote recovery and resilience, build hope
• Mentor clients to build self-advocacy skills and navigate health systems
• Provide individual and group services and facilitate recovery groups
• Engage with clients prior to discharge and assist with discharge planning
• Maintain client records and required documentation in a timely and confidential manner
