Frontier Behavioral Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist/Trainee for the MCAT program in Spokane. The role supports crisis stabilization, recovery, and community integration, with a Monday–Friday night schedule (9:00 PM–5:30 AM) and a 9.63% shift differential where applicable.

Requires WA DOH peer credential or trainee credential activation within 90 days and driving eligibility. The position emphasizes recovery-oriented practice, client advocacy, and collaboration within a

Qualifications

• Self-identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder or both.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Peer Support Specialist Trainee Credential from the WA State Department of Health OR: if no active credential, apply for the Trainee credential within 90 days of start date.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, be able to pass a motor vehicle screening, have active car insurance, and be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Responsibilities

• Assist other professionals in developing treatment interventions during acute crisis.
• Provide peer-based supportive services to clients, including children and youth where applicable.
• Identify recovery-promoting services and reduce stigma through peer engagement.
• Advocate and provide information across settings, with discharge planning participation when needed.
• Maintain communication with MRRCT team and other staff to ensure quality services.
