Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health in Spokane, WA is seeking dedicated Peer Support Specialists to provide recovery-oriented services within a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on counseling, advocacy, and connecting clients to housing, employment and education resources while emphasizing trauma-informed care.

Applicants must have at least a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and relevant WA credentials or trainee status.

Qualifications

• Self-identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder or both.
• Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, be able to pass a motor vehicle screening and driving test, have active car insurance.
• Pay is based on three credential options listed above; starting pay varies by credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in recovery with building hope and self-advocacy.
• Provide peer counseling and support to clients, parents, caregivers, and natural supports.
• Identify services and activities that promote recovery and resilience.
• Mentor clients to navigate health systems and access community resources.
• Engage with clients prior to discharge and support transition into the community.
• Work with team to review cases, gain consultation and co-facilitate groups.
• Maintain client records and documentation in a timely, confidential manner.
