Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking a Hospice RN Weekender to provide nursing and supportive care for patients with life-limiting illness. The role covers two 12-hour weekend shifts and is eligible for full-time benefits.

Requires a Diploma/ADN/BSN from an accredited program, two years of nursing experience or equivalent, and a current MD nursing license. Strong EMR skills and excellent communication are essential as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ADN and/or BSN from an accredited institution.
• Two years of nursing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current MD nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to patients with life-limiting illness with primary physician.
• Participates on the interdisciplinary team to implement patient-directed care plans.
• Consults with attending physician when necessary.
• Evaluates patient/family response and adjusts care plan as needed.
• Educates patient and family to maintain skills and promote independence until death.
• Teaches infection control protocols to patient/family.
• Documents accurately in medical records and forms.
• Participates in Quality Improvement to improve care.
• Supervises Patient Care Partners, Unit Receptionists and volunteers.
• Completes daily acuity assessments for assigned patients.
• Attends to patient and family at the time of death.
