OU Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) for the Hem/Onc unit on weekends part time. The HUC provides a clean, efficient patient care environment, supports admissions, transfers and discharges, and helps manage medical records and communications.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, no prior experience required, and strong organization, interpersonal and computer skills to assist the healthcare team and ensure unit operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, prepares and maintains patient medical records and files.
• Provides receptionist coverage: handle routine patient calls and inquiries.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges by coordinating with relevant staff.
• Maintains or arranges repair of equipment.
• Assists with inventory, stocking and distribution of supplies.
• Supports the healthcare team by anticipating patient needs.
• Mentors new HUCs.
• Participates in daily compliance audits and safety reporting.
• Engages in evidence-based practice quality improvement on the unit.
