Job summary

Petaluma Arts Center is seeking a Part-Time Gallery & Visitor Services Coordinator to provide welcoming visitor experiences and support during weekend gallery coverage. The role includes opening/closing the center, handling front-desk transactions, memberships, and occasional event support.

The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, organized, and excited to connect people with art and community. Prior gallery or retail experience is a plus.

• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable using basic technology, including computers, tablets, and point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors and provide a warm, engaging experience.
• Answer questions about exhibitions, programs, membership, and the Art Center.
• Monitor the gallery and maintain a safe environment for visitors and artwork.
• Assist visitors with purchases, memberships, donations, and other front-desk transactions.
• Open and close the Art Center according to procedures.
• Provide event support and guest check-in during PAC events.
• Communicate issues to PAC management and complete front-desk records.
