Job summary

New York Sports Club is seeking a Front Desk Weekend Lead (Part-Time) to welcome members during Friday–Sunday shifts and to supervise Service & Sales Representatives. The role focuses on retention, member experience, and smooth club operations, including billing inquiries and account questions.

You will work closely with the General Manager/Assistant General Manager, model our service standards, and ensure a positive, inviting environment across a busy club setting.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of face-to-face customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a fitness, hospitality, or retail environment.
• Child & AED/CPR certified.
• Ability to learn and maximize POS/timekeeping/membership systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities and multi-task.
• Prolonged periods of standing at the Welcome Desk and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Promote, maintain, and protect the customer experience by developing SSRs to be solution-oriented and aligned with brand values.
• Engage with members and guests to foster retention and drive referrals.
• Respond promptly to member feedback and escalate issues to management when needed.
• Lead and coach SSRs, giving ongoing feedback and supporting development.
• Assist onboarding of new SSRs and create clear immersion plans for success.
• Maintain a consistently clean Welcome Desk and a friendly member experience.
• Handle basic membership enrollment and explain terms for options.
• Address incidents and maintenance needs in collaboration with GM/AGM.
