Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Tampa, FL is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and patient prep. No optical experience required; training and tools are provided to help you learn the industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience.

The role involves assisting with testing, documenting medical history, guiding patients through procedures, and coordinating with the team to ensure smooth appointment flow. Some weekend and evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong interpersonal skills to comfort patients during screening.
• Willingness to learn about the optical industry and services.
• No optical experience required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and complaints to prep for the exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will encounter during the visit.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for visual screenings prior to seeing the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
