Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician in Lakeland, FL to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements before visits. Training and tools are provided for those without optical experience.

Some weekend and evening shifts are required to deliver a best-in-class patient experience. You will work closely with the Doctor(s) and Office General Manager, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ability to understand basic math.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for the exam prep.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will encounter.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
