Job summary

HealthPartners in Saint Paul, MN, seeks a Patient Access Financial Specialist to be the Emergency Department's first contact for patient registration and to educate patients about payment options. The role interfaces with patients, care teams, and third-party payers to ensure accurate registration and timely information flow.

The position is 0.4 FTE with a weekend day shift, offering benefits and opportunities in financial counseling within the ED and inpatient units.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Previous computer and software experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ED's first point of contact for patient registration.
• Interview patients to obtain the information necessary to register properly.
• Educate patients regarding payment options and programs such as Minnesotta Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, and MNsure.
• Flex between the ED and inpatient units to assist with registrations and financial counseling.
