Job summary

Ardmore Enterprises is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a Saturday/Sunday shift, 9:00am-3:00pm, providing direct care to residents with developmental disabilities in a community living setting in Bowie, MD. The role is part-time with a competitive hourly rate of $22 USD.

The DSP will support individuals in daily living, assist with personal care, and help residents engage in community activities while promoting independence and safety.

Qualifications

• Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided.
• Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or other special needs populations (rehabilitation settings, nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, behavioral health settings, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and fulfilling their dreams by having a “person‑centered” focus.
• Teach independent living and daily skills to the persons‑served by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs such as daily grooming and personal care routines.
• Actively plan, coordinate, and participate with residents in social activities including frequent community outings.
• Instruct, support, and participate in performing household tasks with persons served such as cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc.
