Job summary

Ardmore Enterprises, Inc. in Lanham, MD is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Saturday and Sunday shifts from 10:00am to 7:00pm to support individuals with developmental disabilities in community living services and residential settings.

The role focuses on person-centered planning, teaching independent living skills, coordinating social activities, and assisting with daily tasks such as grooming, meals, shopping, and household chores.

Qualifications

• Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided
• Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or with other types of special needs populations

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving their personal goals with a person-centered focus.
• Teach independent living and daily skills by addressing social, environmental, and health care needs.
• Actively plan, coordinate, and participate in residents' social activities including community outings.
• Instruct, support and participate in performing household tasks such as cleaning, meals, and shopping.
