Job summary

Ardmore Enterprises is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Community Living Services/Residential on Saturdays and Sundays, 3:00pm–11:00pm in Bowie, MD. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting independence and community participation.

This is a part-time opportunity with an emphasis on person-centered care and safety. You will assist with daily living activities, coordinate social outings, and help residents achieve personal goals

Qualifications

• Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided.
• Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or with other types of special needs populations

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and fulfilling their dreams by having a "person-centered" focus.
• Teach independent living and daily skills to the persons-served by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs such as daily grooming and personal care routines.
• Actively plans, coordinates, and participates with residents in social activities including frequent community outings.
• Instructs, supports and participates in performing household tasks with persons served such as cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc.
