GXO Logistics, Inc. seeks a Yard and Dock Coordinator to lead dock activities and trailer movements at our Iowa facility. The role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely movement of trailers.

The position requires experience in dock or yard coordination, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. A proactive, safety-minded approach is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and across varied terrain.
• Proven ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage in daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety; support hand tools and dock equipment as required.
• Serve as the primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities; coordinate trailer movements.
• Manage and sequence trailer docking, release, and yard flow; apply safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe; follow escalation procedures.
• Collaborate daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer-facing teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and maintain a customer service mindset.
