Job summary

YAI program on Union Turnpike in Queens is seeking part-time weekend staff to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on personal care, safety, and daily living activities, with emphasis on respectful communication and dignity.

The position requires physical capability for lifting and assisting, strong empathy, and teamwork within a multi-disciplinary team to implement behavior support plans and ensure quality of life for participants.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, standing, walking for long periods.
• Willingness to take initiative and demonstrate compassion in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships
• Follow individualized service and behavior support plans
• Ensure safety, crisis response, and proper documentation for billing/tracking
• Transport individuals for activities and appointments as needed
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized environments
