Job summary

Friendship Community Care, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist clients with daily living tasks and activities in home and community settings, including showers, dressing, meals, budgeting, and transportation.

You will document progress, follow medication procedures, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safety, quality of care, and adherence to the client’s plan of care on weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two+ years' experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic math and computer skills; able to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks.
• Provide transportation to activities and appointments as needed.
• Complete required documentation (behavioral reports, incident reports, logs, etc.).
• Follow Medicaid guidelines and medication management procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Engage clients in recreational activities and ensure safety.
