Job summary

Friendship Community Care, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional to join an interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality services in home and community settings.

You will assist clients with daily living tasks, provide transportation, and maintain meticulous records to support each client’s plan of care. The role emphasizes communicating progress, following safety and HIPAA policies, and engaging clients in therapeutic activities while modeling professional conduct and respect for clients

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or 2+ years’ experience with developmentally disabled individuals).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with basic living skills and daily tasks such as showers, dressing, housekeeping, meals, and budgeting.
• Provide transportation to activities and appointments as needed with a valid Arkansas Driver's License.
• Maintain communications via logbooks and meetings regarding clients’ needs and progress toward their plan of care.
• Complete required documentation (behavioral reports, incident reports, care sheets, etc.).
• Report incidents and emergencies to supervisors promptly; follow safety procedures.
• Assist in formulating and following the client’s Plan of Care; monitor health and safety.
• Follow medication management guidelines and assist with monitoring and documentation.
• Organize recreational activities for clients.
• Maintain FCC facilities and vehicles; assist with upkeep and preventive maintenance.
