Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community is hiring a Weekend Cook to support Saturdays and Sundays in our scratch-based kitchen. You'll prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring meals are safely cooked, visually appealing, and portioned to resident preferences.

Build friendly relationships with residents, guests, and teammates to foster a warm weekend atmosphere. Responsibilities include opening/closing tasks, keeping stations stocked and clean, and following food safety procedures to maintain high

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
Available to work Saturdays and Sundays, at least 8 hours per day.
Able to read, speak and understand basic English.
Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking preferred.
Must obtain required food handler permits within two weeks of start.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present high-quality dishes by cooking a wide variety of proteins and vegetables, using broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing, ensuring each plate is appealing.
Engage in continuous improvement by contributing ideas during meetings and staying open to feedback.
Complete all assigned opening and closing tasks for each shift, including morning setup or end-of-day shutdown, and assist teammates to keep the kitchen clean and organized.
Keep stations stocked and organized by maintaining supplies and refreshing pantry items.
Ensure a sanitary kitchen environment by cleaning work areas/equipment and monitoring temperatures for safety and satisfaction.
