Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community is seeking a Relief Cook to cover Saturdays and Sundays in our scratch-based kitchen. You will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring dishes are safely cooked, visually appealing, and portioned to resident preferences.

You will also build warm relationships with residents, guests, and team members to create a welcoming weekend dining experience. In this weekend role, accuracy, cleanliness, and kitchen organization are essential as you support the service

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Available to work every Saturday and Sunday, 8 hours per day.
• Ability to read, speak and understand basic English.
• Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking preferred.
• Secure food handler permits as required within two weeks of starting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes by cooking a wide variety of proteins and vegetables, ensuring every plate looks appealing.
• Engage in continuous improvement by contributing ideas during meetings and staying open to feedback.
• Complete opening and closing tasks for each shift and support teammates to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.
• Keep stations stocked and organized, refreshing pantry items and monitoring refrigeration as needed.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environments by cleaning work areas and recording temperatures for safety.
