Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community is seeking a Weekend Relief Cook to join our scratch-based kitchen. You will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring meals are safely cooked, visually appealing, and portioned to residents’ preferences.

You’ll build positive relationships with residents, guests, and team members to create a warm weekend atmosphere. The role emphasizes weekend availability, kitchen experience, and food safety, with potential evenings/holidays as

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work 5:30am-2:30pm every Saturday and Sunday; flexibility for evenings/holidays.
• Ability to read, speak and understand basic English.
• Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is preferred.
• Ability to secure appropriate food handler permits within two weeks of first day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes using broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing.
• Contribute ideas during meetings and stay open to feedback during service hours.
• Complete opening and closing tasks and support teammates to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.
• Keep stations stocked and organized, refresh pantry items and monitor refrigeration.
• Ensure sanitary kitchen environment by cleaning work areas and checking temperatures.
