Job summary

Sodexo at Dickinson State University is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meals and events in alignment with Sodexo's culinary standards.

In a fast-paced kitchen, you will work safely and efficiently, maintain a clean workstation, support teamwork, and help deliver high-quality dining experiences while following all food-safety and sanitation guidelines. The role includes weekend shifts and full-time employment requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods during the shift.
