Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Med Surg department in Manitowoc County. This full-time night-shift role offers 36 hours per week, with a 1830-0700 schedule and weekend/holiday rotation.

Base duties include assisting with patient care, measuring vitals, and supporting admission through discharge under RN supervision. Candidates should have a GED/HSE or high school diploma, BLS certification within 45 days, and a state nurse aide credential.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum required.
• Maintain annual educational requirements for hospital certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, feeding, mobility) and use of assistive devices.
• Record vital signs and input data in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Run errands, stock nursing area, clean equipment.
• Support patient positioning and nutrition-related tasks.
• Assist with skin care and maintenance of equipment like TED hose.
• May remove IVs, post-mortem care, bladder scans per site requirements.
