Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg: IU Garden department to support the care team and patients. You will assist with daily patient care, accurate documentation in the EMR, and patient transfers under RN supervision.

Requirements include BLS for Healthcare Providers, Nurse Aide in good standing, and a GED or HS diploma. Schedule is 24 hours weekly, with every third weekend and alternating holidays; benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs and intake/output in the EMR.
• Performs purposeful rounding and communicates observations to the RN.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties with proper technique.
• Maintains skin integrity and manages patient supplies and equipment.
• Removes IVs or provides post mortem care as required by unit needs.
