Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Washington State Peer Certification - CPC or CPSS required upon hire.
• At least two years of experience as a Certified Peer or in behavioral health.
• Personal lived experience as a beneficiary of the public behavioral health system of care.
• Experience helping individuals navigate physical healthcare services and barriers.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Use your own recovery experience to build trust, connection, hope, and engagement.
• Help members identify strengths, recovery goals, and personal preferences.
• Support members in navigating mental health, primary care, substance use, and community resources.
• Coach members on advocating for themselves and communicating with healthcare providers.
• Assist members in overcoming barriers to accessing care and managing health and recovery.
• Connect members with community resources and natural supports.
• Support members in reducing self-stigma and building resilience.
• Engage individuals who may have struggled to connect with traditional behavioral health services.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
• Use de-escalation and crisis prevention skills to maintain a safe environment.
