Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to support daily patient care, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and vital sign documentation in the EMR. You will work under RN supervision to assist in admissions, transfers, discharges, and care coordination across departments, while maintaining accurate records and patient belongings.

Required BLS within 45 days and Nurse Aide in good standing. GED or HS diploma required; no prior experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation, and document vitals and measurements in EMR.
• Participate in admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision and ensure patient belongings and room setup are proper.
• Perform rounds and promptly communicate observations and needs to RN.
• Support nutritional needs and skin care, and ensure proper supplies and devices are provided.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed by RN.
• Coordinate tests and treatments with other departments to support patient care.
• Facilitate communications, handle calls, and troubleshoot department equipment.
• Prepare chart forms for admissions, transfers and discharges and verify patient demographics.
• Establish positive relations with patients and families and maintain age-appropriate care per policies.
