Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support RNs with daily patient care and documentation. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and vital signs, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The role requires basic education (GED/HSED or HS) and BLS/AHA Nurse Aide certification in good standing, with strong communication and organizational skills. This is an on-site position in a hospital setting with patient-focused responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care: bathing, feeding, mobility and monitoring with documentation.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision and ensure patient needs are met.
• Perform rounding and communicate patient observations to RN; assist with positioning and transfers.
• Support nutrition needs: diet review, tray setup, and positioning for meals.
• Collect specimens and perform basic point-of-care testing as directed by RN.
• Maintain infection prevention practices and proper use of PPE.
• Coordinate tests and treatments; understand department services and order equipment as needed.
• Facilitate communications; answer calls promptly and manage unit paging and equipment issues.
• Prepare chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges, and ensure accurate patient records.
• Build positive patient relations and maintain a harmonious work environment.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care and growth/development knowledge for patients.
