Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support RNs in daily patient care, including bathing, feeding, and mobility, while documenting observations in the EMR. You will assist with admissions, discharges, and routine tasks to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Required are a GED/HSED or high school diploma and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days, plus active Nurse Aide registration in the state. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral care, feeding, mobility, and transfers.
• Document vital signs, intake/output, weights, and other data in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate patient/family needs to RN.
• Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Collect specimens and conduct point-of-care testing as directed.
• Handle errands, supply stocking, and maintain cleanliness of nursing areas.
• Assist with patient positioning and transportation as needed.
• Maintain skin integrity and manage special patient supplies and equipment.
• Follow infection prevention policies and wear appropriate protective gear.
