Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Hospice Aide to provide compassionate personal care and homemaker services in Central/Downtown Boston. The role supports patients with hygiene, mobility, meals, and medication cues, following an established care plan.

The position emphasizes safe transfers, vital signs, infection control, and meticulous documentation, within a caregiving team that values patient dignity and safety. Weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Valid MA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Home Health Aide (HHA) certificate.
• Experience in personal care and homemaker services is implied by role.
• Ability to follow an individual plan of care and document care provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and homemaker services per the plan of care.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, and nail care.
• Support safe transfers using gait belts or lifting equipment.
• Assist with walking using walkers, canes, or wheelchairs.
• Cue self-administered medications and assist with meal preparation.
• Observe, report, and document patient status and care provided.
• Take and record vital signs as directed.
• Practice basic infection control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment and recognize emergencies.
