Job summary

Pathways Healthcare in Cranston, RI seeks an RN for weekend in-home nursing care across Cranston and surrounding areas. The position offers Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon, totaling 30 hours per weekend, with commensurate pay and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities include medication administration, care planning with physicians, and weekend triage. Requires nursing degree, BLS CPR, valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Mileage reimbursement and comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years nursing experience preferred, geriatrics focus.
• Excellent bedside manners and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations.
• Maintain current BLS CPR certification.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and own a reliable, insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Initiates preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Updates plan of care as patient needs change.
• Responds to afterhours calls during weekends (8:30 AM–8:00 PM).
• Assesses patient needs through triage and in-home visits when needed.
• Collaborates with physicians and team to develop strong care plans.
• Addresses patient and caregiver inquiries and concerns.

• Salary: Commensurate with Experience


• Main Office location: Westwood, MA


• Service Area: Cranston, Fall River and surrounding territories


• Schedule: Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon - 30hours per weekend - 3 ten-hour days.


• Job Type: Full Time

Qualifications:

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution


• Preferably 2+ years of nursing experience, with a focus on geriatrics.


• Excellent bedside manners and exceptional communication skills.


• Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations.


• Maintain current BLS CPR certification.


• Possess a valid driver's license and own a reliable, insured vehicle.

Responsibilities:

• Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.


• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.


• Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change.


• Responds promptly to incoming calls during afterhours. (Weekends 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM)


• Assesses patient's needs through triaging and providing in-home care when needed.


• Collaborates with physicians, nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary team to contribute a strong Plan of Care for each patient.


• Responds to inquiries and concerns from patients, their caregivers, and their medical team.


• Consults patients and caregivers before, during and after treatment.
